Voices
This isn't a political play or
a social justice.
Becasue, the rain is beautiful
to me.
It tells me stories about the world,
about the beauty,
and the pain.
I am pulling words,
words from my soul.
words from my pocket.
words from my life.
I am trying to find a way,
screaming out
how I feel, what I see.
Covered in the screams of others,
just trying to find someone to hear them.
But no one hears anything now.
There are too many voices,
too many words.
We're all suffering,
all screaming out.
But we can't hear the words we're saying because
we're drowned by the cacophony of voices.
Rich, poor,
man, woman,
child, adult,
old, young.
Straight, bi, trans,
we're all out there.
We all have voices just
trying to be heard.
By someone.
Anyone.
So we shut others down, trying
to make the world a little quieter so
someone will hear you.
Hear me.
So maybe what I'm saying is
we're all the same.
We all think we're alone in our screaming because
we can't hear the voice for the cacophony.
