The voices are my friends

I think it's kind of sad

that I can hear my own heartbeat

does anyone notice me

no one notices me

I sit on the edge of my bed

for hours on end

thinking to myself

just go a little deeper

The voices have almost won

I'm holding onto you

my last hope

my last chance

When we don't talk

the voices get louder

they scream about you

they don't like you

But I do like you

I love you

I don't know why

they want me to end you

They almost convinced me

I held the knife behind my sweater

I was so close but

you woke up and smiled

How can my friends not like you

how could they want me to take away

such a beautiful smile

the smile that silences the voices
