Voices in the Echo
Screams of a nation
All pound into my head
A melody of madness,
Like a stoplight that's been broken down
Stop, go, slow, stop, go, slow
Voices swirl and melt together, a tornado of forgotten texts and angry voicemails
Years of struggle mold into one unforgetable chorus
Or has it only been days?
Hours?
Seconds?
Does it really matter?
Somedays they fade into the background
Slower, somehow, more calm
Somedays they're as loud as ever
Once again drumming into my mind
Stop, go, slow, stop, go, slow
Is this my own beat?
My own melody?
My brain attempting to make sense of this world?
Or is this all too much
Until then,
The melody continues
Stop, go, slow, stop, go, slow
