The Void
It's something else, a fatal collide,
The silence of emptiness inside.
A quiet cold creeping deep,
Flowing towards endless sleep.
Loss is the only feeling there.
An absence lurking everywhere.
Aching gaps where they used to be.
A world lacking empathy.
Love dries up, still there, but not.
Excitement is gone, care is shot.
Happiness lies alone and forgotten.
Hate, once known, dies black and rotten.
Pain is felt, it wickedly throbs.
Sorrow heaves in broken sobs.
So powerful yet far away,
Hidden beneath the world of grey.
It's permanent, it will not end.
You can always try to mend.
You can replant, you can regrow,
But the abyss persists below.
