The Void Within My Heart

My heart is overcome by frost and ice
The chill cuts through my very core
The beating slows and then ends completely
I have died after all this time

I feel nothing-- nothing at all.
I float quietly in my dark, ethereal prison
There is no noise, no sound
All is quiet for once
No voices in my head
No voices in my ears
Floating in this nothingness is quite peaceful

I have yearned for this quiet for all this time
The sound of the pain and suffering hurts
Everything has taken it's toll on me
My body is weary and my soul broken
I will float here for some time
Locked in my void of a prison

Until--
After what seems like an eternity,
I float down....down....down
Until a pair of arms wrap around me
And I hear a beautiful voice say:
"Wake up my dear, it's time to go."
I finally open my eyes...and see his face.
The one I love...the part of my soul is there.
He takes me away....far far away
He was in the nothingness, just like me
Now neither of us is alone.
