VooDoo
Tell me where your mind goes when you know I can’t read it
Spill what you slyly and strategically hold back in the name of our flirting game
Whisper what you wished filled the elevator’s silence
Divulge what your smirk sincerely says
I need to know
Suspense is slowly slaughtering me
The way you study my idiosyncrasies
Makes me equal parts intrigued and uneasy
I demand you cease staring in the mirror,
determining just the right angle to tilt your smile to topple girl’s worlds
It’s honestly unfair
Because actually your apathy’s appropriate
You don’t have to try or care
Just one of the various perks of being you
Still you’re fully aware of the voodoo you do
To vulnerable girls like me
