vortex of motion
(poems go here) In and out we breathe
Our lungs fill up with toxic, polluted air
With every step taken
We inhale more filth
Our feet kick up dirt.
Sending dust motes
Spiraling, dancing through air
Their crud covered tango
Keeping in step with
With the smut encrusted breeze.
The very movement of motion
Helping make us more sick
But where told to keep moving?
Tap tap is the tune
Rubber souls make
As our feet hit the, asphalt ground
Keeping in time
With the rhythm and beat
Of our everyday lives
Here, there, everywhere
We’re always on the go
Working hard to get that money
Is the only thing we know
This way, that way
People are milling around
Following the hub bub
That’s come to dominate us
Why is it that we move without wanting to?
But when we want to, can’t sit still?
Buzzing around like thirsty mosquitos
Only one thing on our minds
We are bees!
Active bees that contribute
To the hive that is society
Always working for somebody else
To sit, relax is to be lazy, so they say
To keep up with the Jone’s
Is to forever keep moving
Even if it kills you
A great way to die isn’t?
A programed life
Is the life of a robot
Are you a robot?
Why is it bad to let loose?
To pop a squat, pull up a chair
Put your feet up, relax
After all it’s about the journey
Not the destination
Right?
So own your journey
If you come across a rose
You should stop and smell it.
If you dare!
