I believe in a new era

Where times have changed and people treat each other better

I want my kids to live in a world where they don’t have to be afraid

A world like that would put this one to shame

I believe in the dream of Martin Luther King

Yet it’s 57 years later and nothing has changed

Hearts were swayed but some not at all

Racism is still out and about if I recall

Hiding in the shadow and being protected by a powerful man

Times haven’t changed just the era with the exception of the existence of the Ku Klux Klan

Protected by a man who called them “good people”

The same “good people” that ran over people that were protesting peaceful

I encourage everyone who can vote to vote

Before this country is destroyed from head to toe
