A barrier unlike any other was broken down when LBJ was on a prolific broadcast The year was 1965 and the Voting Rights Act was finally passed Voting was a privilege that minorities did not have in the past In this law discrimination in voting booths was bypassed This law made it legal for everyone's vote to be cast No longer were the interests of minorities downcast Instead they interests were extremely important because the voting population became much more vast
