Vulnerable

You close the door and pull down the shades, The thoughts and feelings never fade. You put your hands over your ears, But even you can’t escape your darkest fears. Crawl up into a ball, with your head in between your knees, You pray this will be the last time, you say please. You don’t let the thoughts into your mind, But you feel like they have an addicting bind. You’re done feeling this way, you try so hard, You try again even if you get the wrong card. So open the shades because eventually you’ll see, The side of you that will shine through, the real me.
