Vulnerable

When you speak to me

Please keep in mind

that if you were to tell me

that I was worthless

I would probably

believe you

Normally I would be distant

I would be protected by

a conscious decision

to not requite any affection

that happened to wander

in my direction

I let my guard down with you

I let you in

The worst thing you could

ever do to me now

is make me regret it
