W-O-R-D-S

Spoken words fade with the rocking waves.

Shimmy. shimmy. Shake.

By the morning the moments are forgotten

Some sting. Some soothe. Others escape our memory.

[Insert name here] wuz here.

Written in the sand, these letters make up more

than a shout out to the beach goers of the weekends to come.

They spell out L-I-F-E.

Gritty between our toes

Sticking to the sunblock soaked skin

The shower has nothing on these memories.

Weeks later we slip on our blue Old Navy flip-flops

to find sand particles waiting on the soles.

They tickle our feet. They tickle our hearts.

F-L-A-S-H. They wake up that famous smile.
