Wage Against Obscurity
You materialize in my dreams,
warming to be seen.
Only to be taken away from me
in the morning through open seams.
These states are slightly off, something proving wrong.
The way that you walk, the way that you move or the way that you talk.
I stare at an imitation of yourself; a man that I knew,
and through death he has delved.
This blur, the man that isn't here,
the one that I wish were.
My memory of you to dissipate slowly,
waging wars and fighting battles against obscurity.
The fight to preserve you,
or the fight to move on?
I'll shoot you, shoot me, and shoot this black swan.
