Wages of War
War!
War is coming.
War is coming to our shores.
War!
War is coming.
War is coming to our homes.
War is approaching like a lion.
Full of roar, rage and wrath
Full of death, destruction and devastation
War is approaching like a monster.
War is no longer “over there.”
War is in my backyard.
War is here!
It has come for my brother.
It has come for my father.
It has come for me.
War is here!
Hide your family.
War has gone,
But the scars remain.
Our land hurts from the wounds inflicted.
Our hearts break from the loss.
Our families suffer from the pain.
We are the wages of war.
