The Wait
With love and grace you come from skies afar;
On Earth, a perfect life that gravitates
To Brokenness; with knowledge gain’d in scars,
The blame on Earth you do invalidate.
In facing night and death you find the lost;
With arms of love, you sound the satellite;
Again, again do I forget the cost,
And turn away to fill my appetite.
A spinning, broken, hungry, lonely child,
I’m caught in orbit, stuck in dark unrest,
A hidden Sara, bless’d but running wild;
The DATs* appeal but prove just empty nests.
My strength no match for orbit, I embrace,
The wait: with trust I look upon your face.
