Waiting

Put on foot in front of the other.

Take it one day at a time.

One day.

One hour.

One class

At a time.

Deep breath in, out.

I have so many dreams,

So many plans,

But they wait, just out of reach,

Until I'm out of school,

Until I'm out of the house,

Until my schedule is my own,

And I only have to answer to myself.

Patience is not a virtue I possess.

Yet, I must master it,

In order to have the life I want.

Waiting,

Biding my time,

Learning all that I can,

Until one day,

I'll be ready to take my future by the horns,

And shape it into the beautiful bright life I want.

So, until then, I am content to wait,

To watch,

To learn,

To grow.
