Waiting

I used to know what it meant To succeed every time It used to be a given That all I did was good enough I used to study No more than a minute I would get the grades That now I can only desire I used to laugh When others didn’t succeed I never thought they’d have a reason To do the same to me Now I work Harder than ever To achieve half the success That was all once mine Now I study For hours on end The grades never enough To make me happy Now I cry With every little failure As I struggle to avoid them But they never seem to stop Waiting is all that is left for me As I live through every day Trying hard to replicate the past But always finding it just out of reach Waiting is all I can do To hold myself together Hoping that I’ll succeed again And that this stress will disappear Waiting is what keeps me happy As I push myself to the limit Working tirelessly to triumph Hoping that someday I will And waiting is what I will do Until success is once again mine
