Waiting

Waiting. There is nothing worse than waiting

To sit there all alone

As terror consumes you

And chills you to the bone

You’re searching for a sign

That all may not be lost

Maybe you should tell, but

Then again…you promised…

You’re eyes well up with tears

You’re head begins to spin

You think those evil fears

The darkness closes in

Will they even tell you?

You cannot bear the thought

You’ve read the lighted words

Please let it happen not!

You start to see the end

It is going to happen tonight

Then suddenly you her a buzz

And see a pleasing light

Sweating and gasping

You awoke with a start

Took a few shaky breaths

To calm you’re pounding heart

Simply a dream. Fading.

And yet you lay…waiting.
