Waiting
He broke her heart, so she left.
He didn’t let go, while she pushed him away.
He didn’t stop trying, while she ignored him for days.
He didn’t find another, while she was quick to replace.
He didn’t stop loving her, while she loved another’s face.
He promised her forever, while she acted as if they were never.
He said he would always be hers, even when not together.
He decided to wait, while she lived her life with another.
Until she finally realized, they were only meant for each other.
And when she tried to find him to make things better,
It was too late, all she found was a letter…
“I broke your heart, so I never took mine back,
And without my heart, my insides turned to black.
For it is you I will always love, I still didn’t let go,
Regardless of how hard it was, I wanted you to know,
No matter who took my place, it would be temporary,
Our souls are intertwined, it is you who I will marry.
And if one day you come back and I am not here,
I will still keep my promise, so please do not fear.
I will still be waiting, we’ll only be a little longer apart,
So until then my dear, I love you, take care of my heart.
See you soon.”
