Waiting for an Elevator

This land is ignoring me

An armor against illness

Battling against bacteria

In a body cask of vapor rub

And all I can do

Is wave my fingers.

My body is a wall

That just got painted

And there are “wet paint” signs

All around me.

Counting down the days

To proper condition

Like counting down the floors

While waiting for an elevator.
