The Waiting Flower: Patience and Inspiration
There it sits the Waiting Flower
For some rain to give it power
The clouds stay light and the sun only shines
Yet no rain for the flower to dine
As days pass the sky grows dark
Lightning strikes but leaves no mark
The Waiting Flower cringes and cowers
But waits on, for the rain that gives power
The Waiting Flower weeps for rain
Its leaves are brittle without gain
But yet the Waiting Flower sees no trees in sorrow
They continue to wait for rain tomorrow
Following the trees the Waiting Flower waits
And finally the rain comes not being a second late
The Waiting Flower petals’ blossom and its stem grows
Years later, four waiting saplings are aglow
There it sits the Waiting Flower
No longer waiting…
