Waiting for Love

The clock strikes a new hour again

A piece of my heart is swept away by the wind

I wait impatiently as the clock marks ten.

I am a fool for thinking it could be

But still I wait as the time slips by me

And the clock resonates in the hall like a plea.

I trusted in you, and look where I am

Alone, alone, alone like an innocent little lamb

Waiting for the slaughter, waiting for the battering ram.

The clock strikes midnight

Another day of wasting light.

Perhaps tomorrow though, I'll see my white knight.
