Waiting for My Ride to Get Me

I sit waiting

Time ticks

The world goes on

Yet I sit waiting

Waiting for the future to become the present

The present my past

for him to mean nothing to me anymore

for someone to realize smiling can hurt

and that one doesn't get over fear in a couple of seconds

I sit waiting

Time ticks

The world goes on

Yet I sit waiting
