Waiting, For Now

Where are you? Are you coming?

NO.

What do you mean?

I’m waiting for you. Neither of us are seen or heard.

Don’t you know this isn’t what we planned?

I remember a different us.

Distance is not a source of strength.

Protective? No. Helpful? Even less so.

Come back, I’m still waiting.
