Waiting on the World to Change

Some people say I know everything, or that I'm smart. And I always reply "I'm not smart, I just pay attention." Well I don't pay attention to everything 'cause I don't mind a few mysteries. They can stay that way, it's fine by me. And I won't be what the world tells me to be. Some people like to be questions for the world. Others, to be heard. And many, moments to be held in your arms. Oh, the world says we need to change, but in truth the world's the one who stayed the same. What can we do, become tame? Left and right the world powers on us like it's a game. Maybe we should all just write sad songs. And the world will play along...
