Waiting For You
As I stand waiting for you,
I wonder if you are too.
But deep inside I see that you’re hiding something from me.
Oh what is it?
I see you near, with something you hold dear.
I see, I see
What you’re hiding from me
As you pull it out from there.
I am taken aback, but hide it pretty well.
You ask me if I see.
I nod my head yes, as tears sting my eyes,
While you look to the ground and try to apologize.
You say that it will be quick, that there is no other way,
But I see the pain behind your face.
I close my eyes when yours seek out mine.
I feel it on my chest, through my clothes.
I hear you pull it back to let it go into me.
I stagger back, and as you turn away,
I can almost see a tear rolling down your face.
What’s done is done.
I begin to fall, fall into the blackness
But I can still hear you say;
“I always loved you but you never felt the same.”
