Wake Up

To wake up every morning,

Pull myself out of bed,

Is a grueling task,

When what lies ahead,

Is far out of my grasp

The sun shines through my window;

It falls onto my face,

But my eyes won't open,

For I am in a place,

I put all my hope in

My dreams, they often compel me,

They want my mind to stay

I can't, I won't awake,

For my mind made of clay,

Would surely crack or break
