Wake up

Dear Black people

We need to wake up 

Not physically but intellectually 

Like Ruby Bridges fought for equal education rights

We should fight for our principals 

Fight for what’s worth fighting for 

Like Hosea Williams 

Fought for education and his civil rights 

We know their stories and tribulations

Now it’s our turn to put them into action  

Dear Black people 

It’s our time to fight

Fight for our education

Fight for our equality 

Fight for our success 

And Fight for our Independence 

We need to fight

Not with ignorace but with Intelligence

Not with bullets but with boldness

Not with hatred but with love.
