Wake Up

Lightning strikes, reveals the truth
The ground quakes, shakes down all you knew
Thunder roars
As you choke on words unspoken
Suddenly, the sky breaks open

Wake up, it's just a dream
Set your battered mind free
Stuck in the in-between
Of how it is, and how it should be
Wake up, it's just a dream

Cleaning up the mess of shattered perception
Of a life built on deception,
Destruction of a web,
So carefully constructed
Leaving clarity of vision unobstructed

Wake up, it's just a dream
Can't seem to set it free
Stuck in the in-between
Of how it is, and how it should be
Wake up, wake up, it's just a dream

Wake up, it's just a dream
Try to set these broken thoughts free
Stuck in the in-between
Of how it is, and how it should be
Wake up, wake up, it's just a dream
