Wake Up

Why is happiness so hard to find?

Is it because we're living in a world full of hard times, bad crimes, and flatlines

And the crackheads cause the drug dealers gotta get bread

For their women and kids

Not knowing if this time they make the drop will be the last time they shut their eyelids

But its all good in the hood with the crooks and the ganagsters

While the teenagers walkin round looking like wanksters

Cause this is the real world

And the real world is a" wake up", "cake up", and "take up all you can get" call

An "all you can is stay ballin" call

A "shot callin" call

That endsloud gunshots ringin

Church choir singin

Casket blingin

And a childless parent

Wondering what if they would've been there and

They should've been caring and

Ambulance lights glaring

But its all over

Now everyone's feeling sober and hung-over

Because the life that was claimed was one of an adolesence

Without the chance of a good life

Cause he had that hood life

That "no one understood" life

That "If he could, he would" life

But he never got a chance to move on up like the Jeffersons

And experience the "Better Than's"

How is it good in the hood when you're ducking from guns and losing loved ones?

How can you find happiness when the world's at it's crappiest and nobody gives a damn about it

How can you find success when people do their best to down play you?

I know you're fed up but keep your head up

Even when you're at your worst, trust me i know it hurts but

Don't fake up

Let knowledge cake up

So we can wake up.
