Wake Up Caro (Ka-row)

Thu, 06/27/2019 - 22:34 -- cvolel

                                                               Wake-Up Caro (Ka-Row)

New world, new culture, moving to the US

Wake-up Caro

You’re no longer a kid

It’s time to let go

Raped of you’re childhood in Haiti’s seismic waves

Malign, repine, confine

All perturbations of an adult and you felt them all

Wake-up Caro, you’re nine

You raised your sister, you were a translator, and you did housework

You’re stronger than you realize; my child smiled

Despite it all, you were a straight A student

Wake-up Caro, have you not realized you’re no longer a child?
