To Wake Her from Dream

Through burning regret
you lash out like a fire
Spark up from shame,
tearful and bitter
Those eyes spark a flame
I see the rising smoke
rise up from distorted words
The embers crackling
upon the pureness of snow
Covered with soot, I see the poisoned vines grow
up these wrists,
stitching through that face of stone
We waited for you to come to life
and soon we saw a blooming rose
Beautiful petals of satin and velvet,
painted with a hue of violet
Covered with crystal tears
from the morning frost
its head hung low still
So, one of its wings were lost
Blown away through white,
it appeared on the doorstep
Emerging as a sign to emerge from misstep

I am a poet and artist. I have a great appreciation for music and enjoy singing and playing ukulele. I believe art and music bring communities together. Currently, I am pursuing a psychology degree and hope I can apply that to helping people.
