Waking Up

I awoke to the sun that shines,

And watched the receding lines

Of the gloomy dark fade away,

Searching for a brighter day.

As the bright morning grew fuller,

And the cool breeze grew cooler,

My miffed mind drifted with the wind.

It passed every curve and bend.

My id was searching for a cure

That would finally ensure

That the intellect could withstand

Every sad trial at hand.

See, my cerebrum has been dead,

And feeling stiff like stiff lead,

But a new day was mine to take

And a sign for my brain to wake.
