Waking Up Curious Pt. I

We don't ask questions
Because deep inside
We already know
The answer

We sleep or at least
Hide from confronting the truth
Its easier that way
And nobody gets hurt

I think a lot of times we're scared
Of the consequences
Of having the responsibility
Of knowing the truth

So we would rather
Pass the information along
Or tune out  the noise
But then I encountered
What we call passion

From others whose path
Had collided with my own
They challenged me to
Turn on the the TV
And watch the news
To observe the media
And criticize what I didn't see

It was time to wake up
Curious, it was time
To ask questions
to become passionate
About issues that
Really mattered

Awoken curiosity tingled
Inside me, giving my life
Meaning, and fulfilling my destiny
It was time to wake up curious
And stop letting others talk for me

It was time to take responsibility
We live in historic times people
Everyday something new has
Been outdone or cast away

We need to be engaged citizens
Connected to our environment
We need to wake up curious
Wake up society
