A Walk

I sit here with my arms opened and my heart crying out.... Emotions trying to drown me, confusing my every movement. I took a turn without you. I kept wondering thinking I could do it on my own. I kept going further and further. Through a forest. With vines and trees and more vines. I walk and climbed and walked. Until I got wrapped up. It hurts. I pull away and scream. I have scratches. Scrapes. Blood running down my arms, running down my face. Tears fill my eyes. I’m lost. I’m alone. I’m scared. Where did I leave you at.!?! I will retrace my steps. Going back where I came from. Crossing over the vines. Passing the trees, I once came across. It’s clearing up. The forest is disappearing. My wounds are healing. My heart feels Hope. I hear your voice calling my name. There you are. You’re waiting for me. Your arms are opened. You have a huge smile. You are filled with relief. I run to you. I jump in your arms. Where I’m safe and comforted. You hug me, until I’m calmed. You take my hand and we walk together down the path you laid for me. Together at last. I love you Dad.
