*A walk down Heritage Lane* African American to me is being darker than most, African American to me is people expecting Me not to graduate high school African American to me is having To prove to others that I am intelligent Today as an African American we We can own a business and run companies I am expected to fail in life but I refuse! I am determined to succeed in life. Back in the early 1800's We were viewed as a White man's property Back in the 1800's We were often neglected And told we were nothing, But clearly we were something because We had a price tag on our backs! I'm proud to say I have overcome many obstacles I graduated high school and look forward to my future!
