A Walk of Wonder
T’was a dark and stormy night when I began a journey.
However there were no dragons, castles, mysterious trolls, or wizards.
Mine was much, much simpler.
All that had to be done was amble through a now dark world of scraggly, demented, twisted, grayish brown giants that had created mere outlines for a pathway.
It had begun to grow hazy, and the fog began to curl upwards into my yellow rain jacket.
This haze began to chill me to the bone, and I knew for certain that I would not be walking in anytime soon.
But then all of a sudden I heard a faint whisper, I look above to find a pitch black crow, camouflaged into the darkness of my world.
“You know you must walk through this labyrinth to reach your prime numbered asylum,” the crow said shriekingly.
I know I mustn't have gone in for I wasn’t sure if I would’ve made it out alive.
But instead I began to walk in, in almost a trancelike state.
Fumbling around through darkness wasn’t the funnest thing in the world.
It was as if you were blindfolded and had to continue onward in your life.
Things would break, you would get battered and bruised, and once you would fall you wouldn’t want to get up.
You would lie there for the rest of eternity, miserable because you hadn’t accomplished anything in life.
Aside from turning extremely old, and becoming highly miserable.
Soon I had snapped out of the crowlike trance.
I had no idea where I was.
It felt as if I were in proximity to a circular outline of trees.
Taking in this new mysterious destination was the funnest part, and sweeter than any seven eleven there was.
Beginning to spin and catch raindrops in my mouth as if this rain was the last water on Earth, thunder clapped very loudly.
As if someone had turned on an amplifier to the max and added 10000 more to the pile.
I jumped so high that I kissed the gateway to Heaven, and then flew back down.
However, the landing was worse. I came crashing at top speed and hit the ground with an earth shattering THUMP.
Getting back up I took one more step forward, the entire pitch black Earth opened up, and swallowed me whole.
As if it were some ravenous beast who had been starving for months and had just hit the jackpot of all prey.
I was falling rapidly, it was getting hotter and hotter.
Colors became vibrant reds, oranges, yellows.
Until..... There was a sound of sizzling, and within a beat of the heart, a blink of an eye... I was gone....
