walking away

a lot of people walk away

they can't handle my "bad" days

i used to get so frustrated with them

mostly myself.

it took a long time to realize

if i can't stand to look in the mirror some days

i can't eat

and staring at the ceiling in silence is the only thing i can do

without crying

from feeling too much

or,  more often

without going crazy

from feeling nothing at all

how can i expect you to understand

how can i ask you to stand by my side

and not ask the questions

that i don't even have the answers to
