Walking Backwards

Holes in my floor , beaten with the stick of injustice,

My holes still there but slowly filling , Educated enough to pass for black,

Life endless in the pages of the text, written bigger than the lives upon the indiviual,

Walking backwards not my stlye,

Holes in my soul beatened and worn from life, Brain stuck in molds of others ignorance,

My holes still there never to leave, but hope is here,

Life endless making changes and bridges , books in my hands, walking backwards ain't my style.

I love this poem!!!! it incorperates everything I feel as a young African American. Great Job!! And I like that part too, cause everything seems backward, usually society thinks you arent educated enough because you are black.

My favorite part of this poem was the part that said "educated enough to be black", because it shows you a different side of that persons life.
