Walking Home
Take a couple steps back
You’ll find me spinning in circles
Night wind whipping my muted lips
Head bent watching the earth swirl
Beneath the motion you can smell
My heart’s fluttering pace
And take this chance to taste
The dilated pupils and Jack and Coke
Hidden beneath pleats of filed hatred
Sharp, piercing my wrists ankles thighs
And then the vomit hits the bushes
And I pretend I’m on a carousel
Look I can almost see the horses
John Legend’s magical mystery ride
Isn’t love, it’s stupid giggles
Bursting from numb tongues and
Interlocking legs
Wish it was as easy as wiping off
Flecks of tonight’s foray
And going home to shower off the sweat
