The Wall

I still remember that thing.

That thing that did it to me.

The thing that brought out the bricks.

Slowly making a wall.

More things occur, more bricks add to the wall.

The more severe it is, the bigger the wall gets.

Now the wall is huge, and it gets bigger every day.

The thick, hard wall that surrounds my mind is firm and everlasting.

Never letting anyone in.

People ask but I won’t tell.

They want access into my mind but I won’t allow it.

It’s too hard to tell who’s good and who’s bad.

So no one gets to understand me.

There are so many secrets,

So many hidden thoughts,

And so many people who would like to know,

But I’ve been hurt too many times.

The wall is building and it’s indestructible.

Never letting anyone in.
