The wall
Face the wall, and all you see is black, if you get close enough you might see the coat of paint plastered to it.
Face the wall as you sleep because once you turn around you are faced with your deepest, darkest secrets.
The darkness tries to consume you, little by little, every move you make, every breath you take is all heard by the thing behind you, standing watching you like a parent would its child.
You feel it, waiting, staring, for you to turn, but the wall is the only thing keeping you grounded to this world, the only thing that won't let you fall to the darkness around you.
