Wallflower
To be bashful. Shy. To wits end. Dare I speak your name. Dare I ask you a question. Timid beast. Overtaking your spirit. Clamped mouths can’t breathe. Can’t speak. Can’t will the mind to form a coherent sentence. Introvert. Mute. Writer they call you. What’s your identity? Don’t swallow the words in the depths of your throat but gently caress them against your vocal nodes and will them to escape. Even if but at a whisper. Let the words live to see the day they caress ear drums and sing songs. And make joyful noises. Let them. Don’t cower in fear of the inevitable. Embrace your meekness for you shall inherit the earth. This light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine! So let yours shine too. Let your wisdom show from your many years of sideline observations. Release your proverbs. Aged in your cognates like a fine wine. Oh wallflower. You have so much to contribute to mankind. Your audacity to believe that the world doesn’t need your words is absurd. We need them like the sun and rain to our mental windowpanes.
