Walls

No walls no walls

Only doors and Windows,

They say.

But how can there be no walls

When I can’t be with you?

Your doors are locked,

They say.

My doors are unlocked,

I scream.

You haven’t thought of trying the handle.

We can’t hear you,

They whisper.

Try opening a window.

Can’t you see that my windows

Are open?

I cry.

Can’t you see,

Can’t you see my soul inside?

And yet they still say,

No walls no walls

Only doors and windows.
