Walls

I am free
Yet trapped completely
There are no physical boundaries closing me in
But I am surrounded by unmoving walls that I have built with sin
The smooth stones keep piling up
Higher, and higher
I've found no way to tear them down
They withstand beatings, storms, and fire
I am confined
Was I designed
To be this way?
No, my creator made me in his image
It is my people, my lineage
That brought this upon everyone, and
Now we sin, and cry, and break
But I know of a man who died for our sake
He takes down your wall
He picks you up when you fall
He is forgiveness, hope, and love
He is everything this world isn't made of
He IS free
This poem is about:
Me
Our world
