Walls

I often question my purpose Like a flower that's taller than the rest a different color I often look for answers Thoughts of uncertainty my burden I often long for more Never ending circles around I go Like living a game without a score Sometimes the door is opened only to reveal another door Life keeps going and moving around me I'm caught up in the moments of yesterday and the fears of tomorrow I long for what others have my deepest sorrow But would it even be enough if I had it Would I be satisfied My denial of the the average life speaks volumes Maybe the white picket fence isn't for me Maybe I prefer wide open spaces with breezes of infinity I rise above the desires that bound others Freedom from normality and that which smothers I've grown accustomed to these walls My protection against pain and my many flaws But could it be that which protects me is actually causing my hurt and neglect Oh walls how I want you gone The courage to break them down is that which I long
