Walls
I’m walking
With the hope that what I am walking to is better than where I am now
Some days I feel hopeful to what I am walking to
But other days
most days,
I feel like I am in a dead end
And I am walking into a wall, and this whole time I’ve been walking
I’ve just been lying to myself that there is somewhere to walk to
I look around and everyone else is still walking
But I’m stood still
With no hope for what lies ahead, because I don’t see anything ahead for me
All I see is a wall
And this tall wall is made of bricks of loneliness and disappointment
I know I am not the only one with this wall
but this wall makes me feel like I am the only one in the entire world that feels like this
Sometimes I think about how there are worse off people with taller walls than what I have
I try to remember I should feel grateful, I have an education and a family
But the wall overshadows my attempt to be positive
Its intimidating height blinds me
I hope one day I won’t see a wall anymore
And I can continue walking
In peace.
