Walls

I thought I had it figured out

the right mindset, without a doubt

I never needed anyone to feel complete

Until I realized, it may have been all I fleed

The fear of rejection brought me too far

Turning away the best I had yet to know

Walls so strong not even I could tackle

And that's what made it so unfathomable

I never knew the lonliness it entailed

Till I had no choice but to accept my fails

Will I ever learn to tackle these walls?

Or will I sit quietly and fall victim to the halls

But maybe, just maybe,

the walls aren't so bad

Because they teach respect and honor

two qualities I wish I desperately had

Instead of clinbing these walls,

shall I just learn to settle them all?

Accept the distance, and learn to shine

Because at the end of the tunnel,

my life will always be mine.
