A Waltz

A day in my life is a waltz. The couple begins

with a calming sway, back and forth,

and awaits for the first beat to take the initial step.

They begin to twirl and travel across the room,

making it seem effortless,

but little does the audience know about how much work it took to accomplish the technique.

Kingly, queenly music plays in the background,

giving a serene feel to the showcase.

Yet, there is a struggle to maintain the frame, to remember to have a heel lead,

and to keep in mind to always look left.

There is fear of a possible collision with another couple,

but after braving a sharp turn,

there is a realization of success of being able to continue the dance uninterrupted.

The music reaches its crescendo and is ready to finish, but the couple still maintains the same poise and elegance from the beginning.

The music comes to an end,

and the man twirls the lady and she gracefully curtseys.

He offers his arm and they both walk off the floor,

knowing that they tried their best.
