Wanderlust is a lover
It's said that all roads lead to Rome;
But I'm starting to feel like all roads lead to home.
All roads lead you back to a haunted house where you're both the poltergeist
and the stupid ass white family that moved in.
Every decision leads you back to that feeling you got in your stomach
when you had your very first anxiety attack.
Every drink leads you back to the same headaches that you gave yourself alone,
and dealt with alone,
long before you were old enough to earn the pain legally.
Every adventure leads you back to the summer heat you never felt,
because you waited for someone or something to save you from that ivory tower.
Every fairytale leads you back to the first page of a homemade storybook,
that you never finished writing.
And every flight leads you back to the land of the sun,
guiding you to the path of the sea,
and transforming the pavement underneath your feet into sand.
